Active Network, Government Hosts the New Northwestern Ontario Immigration Portal

March 24, 2010 - Today, in Thunder Bay, Ontario, 32 communities from across Northwestern Ontario, celebrated a very successful partnership and collaboration effort, with the launch of a new immigration Internet Portal, www.immigrationnorthwesternontario.ca. Hosted on the Active Network’s Web Content Management system, the Portal includes over 500 pages of content and 33 Photo Galleries, and is said to be the largest municipal immigration site in Canada.

Prospective immigrants to Canada and newcomers in the region can now find everything they need to know about living, working, learning, and doing business in Northwestern Ontario, through the convenience of this new website. The new Immigration Portal also takes advantage of various features within Active’s software solution, including the multi-language support function, which enabled the site to be translated into 11 different international languages, in addition to English. Active Network worked closely with the City of Thunder Bay, and a team of consultants including Procom Consultants Group, WaltMar Systems Group, and Firedog Communications, to help design the Portal and consult on its development.
